The
programme, which was launched in August 2003, has been
designed to try and address the issue of the number
of young people who are currently not in any learning
or employment.
e2e
in a nutshell...
Entry
to Employment is all about young people. It focuses
on your needs. If you don't need it, you don't do it.
e2e
gives young people the training, education and skills
needed to enter the world of work. All the things you
do on e2e are based on your needs alone. It is truly
a personal way forward.
What's
on offer?
A
wide range of activities and awards which might include
help with reading and writing, first aid, IT, looking
for a job, health and safety or food hygiene, skills
training, presentation skills, work tasters and visits,
qualifications too.
This
is not school. e2e helps young people on a 1-2-1 basis
or in small groups and includes workplace and recreational
activities.
You
will receive a training allowance and childcare expenses
are met in full.
Who
can go on e2e?
Young
people can go on to e2e if they meet some simple criteria:
- Have
left school but not yet 19
- Not
at school or college
- Not
in employment or government funded training
If
you are a young person who is 19 - 24, you may still
be able to do e2e, depending on your circumstances.
